Zscaler Client Application
To strengthen online safety and security, the Department of Education is deploying the Zscaler Client application on all Department provided staff devices.
Zscaler provides filtered, secure internet access at school, home, or elsewhere, helping protect devices from threats and supporting Child Safety Standards online.
More information, including how to log in to the Zscaler app, can be found in the attachment.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Staff using a BYOD can choose to have the app installed to allow that same safe and secure experience while connected at school, home or other locations. Using the app on a BYOD is optional, it acts a bit like an internet security application providing 24/7 protection filtering content (blocking bad sites) and inspecting internet traffic.
If you install the app and then need/want to turn it off, please raise a Service Request via the Services Portal requesting a onetime password.
By using the app the device configuration will be defined by department policy and the corporate profile which provides some content filtering. When accessing the internet for personal use the department policy and corporate profile may restrict the user experience.
